I appear to be on some kind of #FidgetToy Quest where I try to find the perfect fidget toy for my hands. Here is my progress so far.
Things that seem to work well as fidget toys: Pens
Sunglasses
Coasters
Lanyards
Hair
Things that do not seem to work well as fidget toys: Fidget toys
@lotographia part of the fun is that the object has utility that can be discovered. Clicky clicky is a surface level understanding of what fidgeting is doing, IMO.
@lotographia try rubics cubes and tech decks and, I dunno, small lego builds, is what I’m saying.
@dznz @lotographia conversely i like things that have weight or inertia, like spinning tops, or things that don't so much have new utility as new forms of motion (like rotating the inkwell inside a pen)
