@emory UHF CB gets used quite a bit by business and industry, particularly traffic controllers on constructions sites. There are a few repeaters in town that I’m usually out of range of but they get a bit of traffic too. There also seems to be a bar or hotel around here somewhere that uses the roads channel for their own use.

I finally figured it out… base64 was wrapping output to ~77 columns. Disable with “--break 0” on macOS (this seems to be default) or “--wrap=0” on Linux.
