I thought I might do a wee reintroduction, since I’ve moved instances.

I’m Rochelle. I’m a cis pākehā woman & live in Ōtepoti with my husband & my cat Cooper. I have hEDS with pain, fatigue, etc. My husband has CFS.

I enjoy audiobooks, (lit fic, & translation), music (just listening) podcasts.

I love dance, & used to teach social ballroom, latin & street latin.

It’s a pleasure being here, no algorithms is so nice, as are you all.

Hey #NZTwits this is an amazing charity that repairs and donates bikes to refugees and people in need. Please help them!

Good evening 😍 Hope I’m not boring you all with the frequent pics of Otago Harbour, but it really is stunning 😆

I’ve started telling everyone about the benefits of eating dried grapes. It’s all about raisin awareness.

The only advice I have right now for looking after my bones (until I chat to my GP next week) is “avoid falls” (also bar room fights).

Turns out staying upright is some tricky shit. Luckily I landed on my other arm (and my face).

This was last night after I took my meds, just some grazes, no big deal. I think I just lost my balance when I was leaning forward. Gravity always wins, huh.

Consumer NZ has an interesting podcast- Consume This. Just been listening to their investigation into what happens to some ‘faulty’ (deliberately doctored so they are broken but very easily repaired) appliances. We really need to up our product stewardship game in this country 😬 #waste #recycling Here’s a written summary of the project, but I recommend listening to the podcast if you enjoy detective stories! consumer.org.nz/articles/broke

Regular bus driver off (sick?) and the poor substitute clearly did *not* know the route. I gather he went to the completely wrong suburb before reaching me, and then kept getting lost until us passengers took over navigation for him. Hopefully it'll be easier now that it's light enough to see street signs.

They did it. They fucking did it. The whole west was crowing about how they’d finally suffer like all of us and they didn’t. It’s no coincidence that twitter won’t even let you RT Chinese news sources now. Being able to see what fucking cruel useless failures our leaders are compared to what’s possible is very dangerous

Still migraine. The pill helped but it’s persistent and it’s back again. Why? 😒

Actually… I ate something that might have had sulphites in it yesterday. Maybe that’s why 🤔😒

Migraine. I had one in the small hours and thought I squished it with a pill, but apparently not squished enough. Boo 😒

Mōrena from #Ōtepoti, where rain is not far away but the light is beautiful just now 😍

Got to wait for some glue to dry before we can have our water back on. *twiddles thumbs*

It is that time in June when I buy a loaf of bread with a BB date of 1st July and think "Whoa, how do they make it last that long?"... and then check my calendar...

We’re not fighting… just… uhhh… hugging. Yeah, hugging. What are you lookin’ at? #caturday

Now I can type with both hands again (in moderation!), I've written a blog post about my project to read all the Hugo award-winning novels 📚 #ScienceFiction #fantasy #solarpunk #BookRecommendations clarkesquill.com/2022/06/26/re

I’m no skier or mountaineer, but this is an important message for any of you who are. Sun protection is critical at high altitudes in winter due to high UV levels. Please take care! I say this as one of the 4000 or so NZers who will be diagnosed with #melanoma this year 😬 stuff.co.nz/national/health/30

Ugh we’ve got a burst pipe. It’s making a mess of the driveway 😒

Ok oww 😭 It hurts like f**k. I’ve still got this. I just need to slow down a wee bit 😭😂
